I applied this lesson in adult life, and helped folks when I could But it was the grown-up world that turned into falsehood. You see boys and girls, there are these ugly crooks Bad guys who run the world, because they make all the rules They dress in suits, ride in limousines, and own the world’s banks They even own the militaries… ships, planes and tanks They keep themselves in power by dividing us in herds You’re a Muslim, he’s black… watch those hate words Are you left-wing or lean right, do you hate guns too? Women’s rights, gay rights… what matters to you? While we’re fighting amongst ourselves over stupid things They sit back, enjoy their lives, and live like kings It’s their world in which you live, one based on fear and lies But it’s really they who live in fear, just look into their eyes I say…. Why do we keep playing their game, when we know it’s fixed? Are we gluttons for punishment, or do they have us transfixed? The charade goes on and on, and no one seems to care When someone speaks out against it, it’s like a breath of fresh air They say that money rules this world, all I see is greed When someone tries to do some good, well… he must be killed They play you like a fiddle, and study you like rats And create their distance, by using bureaucrats I say….
