DIGITAL ARTIST
In the beginning of 2013 Attila got interested in digital art photography. He was in and out of hospitals and stuck in a nursing home, healing a couple of pressure sores, a very common and serious issue people with paralysis face, every day.
Being confined to a Clinitron bed for at least 21 hours/day, he needed a way to let his creative juices flow. Music is Attila's passion, but it's pretty clear that while not having been able to record music for nearly 4 years (due to the severity of the sores), he found a way to bring that same passion to his new found skill.
"I think the first thing a person needs to do is to know who he/she is," says Attila. "But... you have to be honest with yourself. I hear people say all the time that 'you can be what ever you want to be in life'. To a certain extent... this is true. How ever, if you don't possess the skill set to throw a football accurately, no amount of want and desire is going to give you a chance to be an NFL quarterback. This is what I mean by having to know who you are, and being honest with yourself."
Below are some examples of Attila's wide range of photos. "I always push the envelope. It's my personality. When I find myself doing "cookie cutter" stuff, I get bored and walk away."
Attila took most of these photos himself, but not all of them. Some of the photos he ran across on Facebook.
"Sometimes as I browse around on Facebook, a photo jumps out at me, as if it's telling me that I need to apply my 'art' to it, so... that's exactly what I do. When I'm finished and send my version of the original photo to my friends, they get very excited. It's like... I made their day, or at least that moment, and it makes me feel good to bring this little bit of happiness into their lives. It's a great feeling knowing that something I did, put a smile on someone's face."
